1:1  SPANISH CLASSES

When we devote ourselves to learning a language, we are basically entering into a long-term relationship with that language. This never ends - it is a lifelong journey of beauty and expansion. 

 

Private Spanish classes with me are conversation based. In person or virtual. My priority is that you develop the confidence and tools to use your Spanish in the real world. If you are more advanced, we will take your Spanish to the next level based on the grammar you're missing and what you want to learn next.

Every class we'll accumulate notes which I will send you afterwards so you can revisit them. I will also provide extra resources as I see fit - verb charts, etc. to supplement what we learn in class.

Maybe you're thinking, why should I take lessons with this gringa American girl? Fair. I'll tell you why.

 

I have devoted a lot of my life to becoming fluent in Spanish. It's been ten years of this. My learning isn't over, but it's reached a level I only dreamed about as a teenager. Today I have held multiple jobs in Spanish and maintain close relationships only in Spanish. My life is just as much in Spanish as it is in English. This language has given me more than I ever could have asked for, and it continues to give.

 

I spent seven months last year (2025) traveling in Latin America. The day I arrived in México was surreal. I spent years working with Mexicans in restaurants, listening to their music, mimicking their ways of speaking, and finally I made it there myself. In essence the whole trip was a kind of soul pilgrimage. Recently I moved back to México and I'm looking forward to taking on new students in 2026.

 

It's always great to learn from a native speaker, but the advantage of learning with me is that I have the experience of learning Spanish from zero. I know what it's like to learn Spanish as a second language with English as your mother tongue. I've been in your position.

My style of teaching is informal, engaging, and no bullshit.

Meaning - I'm not here to waste your class time memorizing the names of vegetables together. You don't need me for that. We'll focus on what's most important - grammar and conversation. Let's make the time we spend together valuable for you.
